Expanded "KidzDuArt" Area!
All day hands-on art for kids and their moms & dads!
Our expanded KidzDuArt area will be staffed by VSA arts of Iowa (www.vsaarts.iowa.gov) artists this year, all of whom have a disability. Annually, VSA arts of Iowa provides arts experience for over 30,000 children and adults with disabilities.

Inside the north entrance to the Varied Industries Building, six Iowa artists will demonstrate:

Directions to ArtFest Midwest
The Iowa State Fairgrounds are located approximately 7 minutes east of downtown Des Moines. The show is held indoors in the Varied Industries Building, a newly renovated and climate-controlled environment located at the front of the Fairgrounds.
From the west, take the University Avenue (Fairgrounds) exit off I-235 and go east to East 30th. Street. Turn right (south) on E. 30th Street. Turn left into the Fairgrounds main entrance. Go one block and the Varied Industries Building is on the right. From the east, take Highway 163 exit off I-235 and go east to East 30th Street as from the west. Free Parking and Admission!
Free "Shuttle Between the Shows" links ArtFest Midwest and Des Moines Arts Festival! The two shows have partnered to provide yellow school bus shuttles to run from the Iowa State Fairgrounds to the Des Moines Arts Festival. The buses will stop at the north main entrance of the Varied Industries Building and 11th Street and Grand Ave. downtown and will run during the following hours:
Saturday, June 28: 9:30 am – 10:30 pm
Sunday, June 29: 9:30 am – 5:30 pm
Enjoy both art shows on Saturday and Sunday: Park at the Fairgrounds, visit ArtFest Midwest, take the yellow bus shuttle downtown to the Des Moines Arts Festival... or park downtown, visit the Des Moines Arts Festival and take the yellow bus shuttle to the Fairgrounds to ArtFest Midwest!
