The majority of booths are indoors, but there are also a limited number of outdoor booths for demonstrating artists only. Outdoor booths will be in front of the north main entrance of the Varied Industries Building so customers can browse through them on their way into the building to see the rest of the show. Booth fees and sizes are the same as for indoor booths. For outdoor booths, there is no electricity available and set-up is on hard surface so there is no tent staking. Outdoor booths are in groups of two, so all booths will be on a corner and Saturday night security will be provided. Artist demonstrations are a huge draw for the show, so these artists will receive special promotion in the publicity we send out. Television and newspaper media representatives are especially interested in the demonstrations, too.

Also, we are taking applications for the three Iowa demonstrating artist booths. These are located just inside the north entrance. We provide a double booth for the price of a single for these three artists. These artists must be from Iowa and will be promoted extensively in our publicity.

• All work must be designed and handcrafted by the artist.
• The artist's presence is required at the show.

All artists submit photos and are juried for each art show.

Exactly three artwork photos and one booth display photo should be submitted. Photos may be submitted:

1. Online via e-mail (preferred)

2. As slides
   > Each slide must be labeled with artist’s name and medium and inserted into a plastic sleeve.
   
   
3. As digital images on CD
   > Each CD must be labeled and photos must be jpeg's.

Lodging Option

The Sleep Inn on I-35/I-80 at the Hickman Road exit (15 minutes from the Fairgrounds) has offered a rate of $52 per night (1 or 2 people), 515-270-2424. Reservations must be made by May 1, 2008.

From the west, take the University Avenue (Fairgrounds) exit off I-235 and go east to East 30th. Street. Turn right (south) on E. 30th Street. Turn left into the Fairgrounds main entrance. Go one block and the Varied Industries Building is on the right.

From the east, take Highway 163 exit off I-235 and go east to East 30th Street as from the west.
